Klondike is a single-player card game. Your goal is to move the cards to four foundation piles, one for each suit, building from Ace up to King.
Understand the board
- Tableau: seven columns where you arrange cards and reveal covered cards.
- Stock: the remaining cards that you draw when you need more options.
- Waste: the face-up cards dealt from the stock.
- Foundations: four piles built in ascending order by suit.
Build legal sequences
On the tableau, place cards in descending rank and alternate red and black. For example, a red 6 can go on a black 7. Keep valid sequences together when moving a group. A King can start an empty tableau column.
Reveal cards and build foundations
Move face-up cards to expose covered cards. Start each foundation with an Ace, then add the 2 of the same suit and continue up to King. Use the stock when the tableau offers no useful move.
Practice in The Solitaire
Draw 1 reveals one card per draw; the game also lets you choose Draw 2, 3, 4 or 5. Hints can suggest a move, and undo lets you reconsider a choice. These tools do not guarantee a winning solution for every deal.
